Why Land Speed Racing? Why Road Racing? Why Should I Sponsor A Land Speed Racing Car?

The answers to these questions are easy to answer. Long before Nascar came on the scene, cars built by amateur racers ran the dry lakes of California, then the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. They also raced each other on the streets, which proved to be both a danger to the drivers and spectators. The NHRA and IHRA were formed to make these amateur Drag Races safe. The SCCA was formed for the Road Racing crowd. Organizations were formed for the Motorcycle Racers. Trans-Am Racing became very popular, as did Can-Am Racing, World Of Outlaws, Sprint Car Racing, the Baha Events, and the Silver State road racing events. Other organizations have been formed for many other racing venues. As Nascar became more and more popular, it began to overshadow the Indianapolis 500, and Formula One (FI) Racing runs into the hundreds of millions of dollars to run one (1) car.

All of these racing venues became very popular, and very expensive. To sponsor a car in all of these events can run into the hundreds of thousands, and into the multi-multi millions (NASCAR). All except Land Speed Racing. The SCTA/BNI was formed specifically for these homegrown racers. Now we see the USFRA, ECTA, The Texas Mile, The SORC/Sandhills, Nebraska Events, the DRLA (Land Speed Racing in Australia). The ECTA, SORC, and Texas Mile Events are all run on ‘Paved Surfaces’.

We purchased this unique Nascar Race Car for a specific purpose. It is as safe a car as can be built, is a proven car in both Nascar and LSR events, and can easily be adjusted suspension wise to compete in road racing events. We have a budget for this car, and will do everything within our limits to not exceed that budget.

Plans for the car this year (2010) include 'Shakedown' runs/Multiple testing sessions at the Maxton Mile events in North Carolina, and at least one (1) of the Bonneville Salt Flats events.

2011-2012 will include the Maxton Mile events, The Texas Mile, The Sandhills Mile Shootout Event, The Mojave Mile in California, and at least one (1) of the Bonneville Salt Flats events.

The car will have to be transported to these various events, which will be costly fuel wise, and will require several days of each MAXX2RACING Team Member's time.
